Introduction
The Industrial Design department established in 2000, offered undergraduate and postgraduate programms, and in December 2014, the department began its development program seriously with the aim of promoting faculty.
Since its inception, this faculty, with the aim of promoting Iranian-Islamic lifestyle, has focused on designing a culture of design and aligning with the needs of regional industries. Islamic-Iranian design with an emphasis on indigenous needs and patterns of Iranian-Islamic life, recognition of design and creativity with an emphasis on behavioral design, design training, and design in relation to indigenous industries and regional capacities with an emphasis on footwear, furniture and jewelry as three main axes defined in the perspective of the development of this faculty. These axes are specifically pursued and implemented in two parts: the software (including research projects, student projects, industry links, and graduate theses) and hardware (including workshop equipment, laboratories, research centers, and specialized laboratories).
The building of this faculty is one of the masterpieces of Khosravi Leather Factory. Preserving the historical authenticity of the building, it has been completely rebuilt and renovated and its infrastructure spaces have been changed to be used an area of over 3000 square meters for building Islamic design faculty.
